Indian Bank is an Indian public sector bank, established in 1907 and headquartered in Chennai. It serves over 100 million customers with over 5,000 branches. Total business of the bank has touched ₹1,000,000 crore as on 31 March 2022.

The bank's Information systems and security processes are certified to meet ISO27001:2013 standard. It has overseas branches in Colombo and Singapore including Foreign Currency Banking Units at Colombo and Jaffna. It has 227 overseas correspondent banks in 75 countries. Since 1978, the Government of India has owned the bank. Allahabad Bank merged from 1 April 2020, making Indian Bank now the seventh largest bank in the country.

Challenges Faced by Client

·         CPU utilization and memory utilization of Vmanage was higher than the healthy threshold of 50%.

·         Vmanage was running out of disk space in DC. Hence, DR had to be made active.

·         DC and DR were both having 3 node Vmanage clusters.

Denovo Solution to Client

·         Upgraded memory on existing UCS 220 servers from 96 GB to 192 GB and assign 128 GB DRAM to existing vManage.

·         Upgraded vManage from 20.3.4 to latest 20.6.x release train (as per recommendation by Cisco Engineering team)

·         Installed 3 NEW UCS servers each in DC and DR. Existing 3 node cluster converted to 6 node cluster.

Benefits to Client

·         CPU utilization and memory utilization of Vmanage has improved to well below the threshold of 50%.

·         Vmanage problem of running out of disk space in DC resolved.

·         Now, DC cluster is made active.

·         The new SDWAN architecture is more robust and more resilient than the earlier architecture.
